Why We Are Obsessed with Avocado Oil

   A few weeks ago I was making my monthly adventure to Costco with my sister and stumbled upon my latest obsession, Avocado Oil. It was so worth the eleven dollars! Not only is it great for cooking but you can also use it as a beauty product. My husband makes fun of me because I literally use it for everything. I cook with it, wash my hair with it and use it as a face and body moisturizer.Unlike the well-known tea tree oil, olive oil and lavender oil, avocado oil has yet to be discovered by most people.  If your preggo this is perfect to moisturize your growing belly, and if you already have a precious little baby you can use it for healing diaper rash. You can even mix Avocado Oil and Organic Sugar and make an amazing sugar scrub exfoliant that will make your skin as soft as a baby's bottom. Im officially hooked on this stuff check out all the health benefits.

  • Protein and Fats. Avocado oil contains a high amount of proteins and unsaturated fats, both of which are strong skin agents. Avocado oil actually contains omega-3 fatty acids – those very same fatty acids as found in fish oil. Thus, not only can this oil be used as a beneficial lotion, but also as healthy cooking oil!
  • Sterolin. Avocado oil is high in a substance called sterolin, which studies have shown to facilitate the softening of the skin and to reduce the incidence of age spots;
  • Antioxidants. Avocado oil is rich in antioxidants, making it useful for healing sun-damaged skin. Antioxidants like vitamins A, D and E in avocado cause the skin to be suppler, and are thus particularly good for dry or aged skin.
  • Lecithin and Potassium. Avocado oil contains lecithin and potassium, which are all highly beneficial for the skin as well as the hair;
  • Moisturize the Skin. Avocado oil applied topically helps relieve dry and itchy skin. Once applied, avocado oil is deeply absorbed by the skin, thus making it an ideal moisturizer and skin care agent.
  • Boost Scalp Health. In addition to helping clear scaly skin, it can also relieve itchy scalp symptoms. Avocado oil, when regularly applied to the scalp, can stimulate hair growth.
  • Increase Collagen Production. When applied, avocado oil increases the production of collagen, which helps keep the skin plump and decreases the effects of aging.
  • Treat Skin Conditions. Avocado oil is useful in the treatment of a variety of skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis.
  • Others. Avocado oil facilitates the healing of wounds and burns to the skin. It also helps to relieve and heal diaper rash.

Facial Moisturizing
When using the avocado, instead of throwing away the peel sections, save them for your facials. The peel has a hidden reservoir of oil containing a substance called humectant that acts to retain moisture.
To use the peel, gently swipe it over your skin in upward massaging motions until you have covered your whole face.

Sucker for Seersucker

      We visited the Historical Williamsburg this weekend and stopped into one of my favorite childrens's clothing stores called The Carousel.  From living in the South I now ADORE seersucker and smocked clothing.  It took a while to convince me on the smocked clothing because some of the boy stuff looks like girls stuff but whatever, it's so stinking precious I can NOT resist it any longer.

Summer Time Dinner Party

  One of my favorite things to do is to host dinner parties with our friends.  If you can't tell I've become obsessed with blue and white and have started a little collection from the Raleigh Flea Market and other consignment shops around town.  At the end of the night one of my girlfriends introduced us to a hysterical game called Headsup.  You can download it on to your smart phone and it will be the best dollar you've ever spent.  I've also included my go-to salad recipe that is super easy to make and very yummy.

Strawberry Fields Forever Salad:
Two heads of boston or romaine lettuce
One 1/2 quart of strawberries cut into four pieces.
6 oz. of monterey jack chesse.  Shread fresh at home.
4 oz. of pecans.  Cook for 6 minutes at 350.

Dressing: BRIANNAS' Home style Blush Wine Vinaigrette Dressing

Pour dressing into a measuring cup and add 5 shakes of paprika and 1/4 cup of vegetable oil.
  Stir and then pour on top of salad.

Enjoy! XOXO TheeInspiredMommy

MCM- " Women on FIRE"

   This Mom Crush Monday goes out to the amazing Firefighter/ Paramedic/Wife/ & Mother Lacy Sharee New.  Not only is she incredibly gorgeous on the outside, but she is even more gorgeous on the inside if you can believe it.  Lacy has such a feisty spirit and personality that could make you laugh so hard you will burst into tears or pee your pants.  Both of which have happened to me just by being in her presence.  Lacy made her career choice to be a firefighter at the young age of seventeen and has never regretted that decision.  Her passion and dedication to give one-hundred and ten percent to everything she does is so inspiring and motivating to so many around her.  To top it all off she is an amazing wife and mother to her two sons,Tyler and Bryson.

Q: What Inspires you in your everyday life?
A:"For sure my children inspire me everyday. They inspire me to do my best in both being a mother and better person. I would also have to say the men and women I work with as well as the citizens of York County inspire me also. I work in a field where you see people at their worst and you are the person who saves them, helps them, comforts and reassures them. Those people inspire me to work harder and harder each day and to have compassion. To come into work each day proud to be in a career that is the most fulfilling thing next to being a parent. Working Mom vs. Stay at Home Mom

I recently got a side job doing commercial photography/videography that I absolutely love!  As I am taking a shower getting ready for my first day back on the job site my son Truitt decided to pull a "Magic Mike"and take all of his clothes off along with his poopy diaper.  By the time I got out of the shower there was poop smeared all over him, the pack and play and over the entire wall of my living room. I was calm on the outside but on the inside I was thinking holy %*&$.  Needless to say, when the sitter arrived I ran out the door faster than a lightning bolt  in excitement !  I  don't believe this makes anyone a bad mom to enjoy an activity outside of their children. In fact, I personally believe at the end of the day it makes me a better mom. I have an activity besides raising my children that makes me extremely satisfied .  When I get home to them I am beyond excited to hold them in my arms. Children are not a distraction from more important work; they are the most important work.  Me feeling happy and satisfied outside of my home makes me want to be a better mom and example to my children.  I personally believe its not the quantity of time you spend with your children; its the quality. Whether its getting a part time job or taking a photography or kick boxing class once a week, I think its important for mothers to have an activity that is just about them.  It saddens me to see the amount of judgement from both working mothers and stay at home mothers towards each other. Whether you are a working mom or a stay at home mom you have an EXTREMELY difficult job.  We should unite and  be strong and supportive of one another. The great controversy of working mom vs stay home moms is unnecessary because face it ladies at the end of the day we are all  hustlers with the same goal, and that goal is to make a great life and future for our children.

Young,Wild & FREE

To be inspired you have to have people in your life that constantly inspire you and challenge you to be a better person.  These are some of the people in my life that are constantly molding me and telling me to never give up on my dreams and my faith.  My children make me want to be a better and more adventurous person everyday.  Why not grab people that inspire you and have a photo shoot?! You only live one life so make it a life full of love, laughter, encouragement, blessings, hope and add some crazy shenanigans in there and BOOM;)
